How we test
Every product we recommend goes through the same process: hands-on research, spec analysis, price comparison, and a "would we buy this?" test.
We don't have a testing lab — we have something better: deep research into what actually matters for each product category, combined with real-world use where possible.
The independence pledge
Picks are never paid for. We don't accept sponsored placements, free products for review (unless disclosed and it doesn't affect our opinion), or payments to feature specific products.
We earn through affiliate commissions — but only after you've made a purchase decision. This means we're incentivized to help you find the right product, not just any product.
If something isn't worth your money, we'll tell you. Our "what to skip" sections are mandatory on every commercial guide.
Who we are
Crest & Field is run by a solo founder with a background in research and a belief that buying guides should actually help people make better decisions.
The site uses AI tooling for research and content structure, but every recommendation is vetted by human judgment.
